Bridging books and the open web

isbn.link is a product of Quoinlock — built so book publishers can adopt GS1 Digital Link without standing up their own resolver infrastructure.

Retail is moving toward multipurpose 2D barcodes (Sunrise 2027). A single GS1 Digital Link QR Code can carry the GTIN for point-of-sale and open a world of digital content for readers, librarians, and supply-chain partners.

We treat ISBN-13 as GTIN, encode it with Application Identifier 01, and resolve according to the GS1 Conformant Resolver standard: default links, typed link requests, hierarchical inheritance for lot and serial, linksets, CORS, and a public resolver description file.

Compliance posture

  • GS1 Digital Link URI Syntax 1.6 — path structure, AI order, GTIN-14, qualifiers.
  • GS1-Conformant Resolver — resolution algorithm, linkset, status codes, CORS, /.well-known/gs1resolver.
  • GS1 Web Vocabulary link types (gs1:pip, gs1:defaultLink, …).
  • Print guidance — contrast warnings and dark-on-light recommendations for barcode artwork.

Security

The publisher portal uses WebAuthn passkeys — no passwords to phish. API access for enterprise automation uses hashed bearer keys. All production traffic is HTTPS-only.
